“Yes!,” the political satire by Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid, has won the ACCEC Critics’ Award at the online edition of the 2026 Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest.
“Yes!”, which screened at the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes, and was one of the 10 films highlighted by the prestigious magazine *Cahiers du cinéma*, has been named the winner by the ACCEC Critics’ Jury, composed of journalists Marla Jacarilla, Víctor Dalmau, and Agus Izquierdo. “For turning cinema into a radical tool that confronts the audience with genocide. For its daring direction. For pushing contemporary cinema to its limits.”
Nadav Lapid, who has been in exile in France for five years due to his opposition to the Israeli regime, has also been boycotted by pro-Palestinian activists for making a film that is not particularly appealing to audiences.
The ACCEC jury also wished to award a special mention to the film”Egghead Republic, by Pella Kagerman and Hugo Lilja, for its ability to unsettle and take unpredictable and daring paths, subverting the conventions of science fiction.”
Both “Yes!” and “Egghead Republic” will remain available on the Filmin platform until August 24, when the 16th online edition of the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest comes to a close.
