Visit the “Atlántidas” exhibition at the Maritime Museum

An exhibition by the Consell de Mallorca exploring the myth that gives the festival its name and its connection to today’s major environmental challenges.

Beyond the myth of the lost underwater city, Atlantis is also a question about our present. What disappears as sea levels rise? How are islands changing? What role can culture play in the face of the climate crisis?

These are some of the questions explored in “Atlantises: Myth, Climate Crisis and Submerged Futures”, the exhibition opening on 17 July at the Maritime Museum of Mallorca, presented in collaboration between the Consell de Mallorca and Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest.

The exhibition traces the origins of the Atlantis myth, its reinterpretations throughout history and its striking relevance today, at a time when islands and coastal communities are facing some of the greatest environmental challenges of our era.

Because cinema is also a way of understanding the world. And this exhibition extends that perspective beyond the screen.

The perfect stop before an evening at Ses Voltes

During the festival, from 29 July to 2 August, the Maritime Museum will extend its opening hours from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, just before the concerts and screenings at Ses Voltes.

Start your evening by visiting the exhibition, then continue with open-air cinema and live music.
