INDUSTRY & NETWORKING

Cinema doesn’t only happen inside theatres. It happens in conversations after a screening, over coffee between meetings, or in those unexpected encounters that eventually become new projects. That’s why AMFF Pro embraces a carefully curated, intimate format where the goal isn’t to gather as many accredited guests as possible, but to create the right conditions for the right people to meet.

A meeting point to exchange ideas, discover new ways of working and build meaningful connections between professionals who see cinema as a living, restless industry in constant evolution.

Green Skills Lab

Talking about sustainability in the audiovisual sector is no longer about the future. It’s about the present. Green Skills Lab was created with exactly that purpose: to provide practical tools that help make productions more responsible without compromising creative ambition.

Developed within the framework of the European Green SCAP project, the programme combines hands-on training, real case studies and collaborative work to explore sustainable production, environmental impact assessment, filming in protected natural environments and the new working practices the industry increasingly demands.

Supported by the Erasmus+ programme and co-funded by the European Union, Green Skills Lab is led by Veneto Film Commission, together with Film Office-Central Macedonia, Hellenic Film Commission and Mediterranean Creative Hub Mallorca, under the scientific supervision of European Green Film.

More than a training programme, it is an opportunity to rethink what the future of cinema should look like. A cinema that not only tells stories capable of changing the way we see the world, but is also consistent with the way those stories are made.

DAMA Sessions

There is one role without which no film would exist, yet it often remains in the background: the screenwriter. That’s why we are renewing our partnership with DAMA once again, dedicating an entire morning to the people who write the stories before they reach the screen.

DAMA Sessions brings together screenwriters and filmmakers to reflect on authorship, writing and the challenges of the profession. Previous editions have explored topics such as gender inequality with Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, Celia de Molina and Marga Melià, as well as the economic and territorial imbalances affecting the profession in a conversation featuring Goya Award winners Eduardo Sola and Isa Campos.

This year, we once again shine a light on one of the industry’s most essential, yet often overlooked, creative voices. A morning dedicated to listening, debating and celebrating the idea that every great film begins long before the first day of shooting. It begins with someone writing the very first page.

Manifest by FILMIN

Cinema doesn’t just tell us about the world. It also helps us understand it. That is the spirit behind Manifest by FILMIN, a space for reflection and knowledge sharing that addresses some of the major challenges shaping today’s audiovisual industry. From the rise of artificial intelligence to the impact of Generation Z, these sessions aim to turn today’s biggest debates into practical insights for the future.

Talks & Masterclasses

Some of Atlàntida’s most memorable moments don’t happen during a film, but before or after it. Talks & Masterclasses invite audiences to hear directly from the people who make cinema possible, as well as from the thinkers and creators who help us better understand the world that cinema reflects.

Open to the public, the Masterclasses have welcomed some of the industry’s most celebrated voices, including filmmakers such as Juan Antonio Bayona, Rodrigo Sorogoyen and Stephen Frears, alongside Academy Award-winning actresses Judi Dench and Liv Ullmann. These conversations offer a unique opportunity to explore the creative processes, doubts and decisions behind remarkable careers.

The Talks broaden the conversation even further. Inspired by the festival’s own strands, such as Arts, Politics and Queer, they explore the connections between cinema and politics, literature, philosophy and the arts. Previous speakers have included political scientist Pablo Simón, journalists Ana Pastor and Carlos de Vega, writer Annie Ernaux, author Pol Guasch, philosopher Slavoj Žižek and renowned architect and designer Oscar Tusquets.

Because at Atlàntida, cinema is much more than what happens on screen. It is also a way of thinking, of starting conversations and of making sense of the world we live in.
