We’re warming up for 28 June with a night of cinema, music and the sea on Magaluf beach. A free event open to everyone, bringing together short films, a screening of Charli XCX’s documentary The Moment, and DJ sets from Sideways and Aina Losange to celebrate the start of summer in Calvià.
On 28 June, almost a month before Atlàntida officially opens its doors, we’ll be inaugurating Magaluf’s new seafront promenade with a giant screen by the sea, sun loungers on the sand and a programme designed to enjoy open air cinema as the sun begins to set.
Short films and music on the beach
The first part of the evening will be dedicated to three short films presented by Where Talent Ignites, the campaign promoted by Audiovisual from Spain, ICEX’s international platform for the promotion of the Spanish audiovisual industry.
We’ll begin with La Tarara, a short film directed by Nicolás Méndez and produced by CANADA, which explores the worlds of fashion and identity through a visually rich universe filled with symbolism and imagination.
Next comes Flamenco, directed by Carla Simón, starring Rocío Molina and produced by MAMMA Team. A contemporary take on one of Spain’s most universal cultural expressions, where dance, music and the body become a cinematic language.
Later on, Sideways DJ will take over the decks. If you’re familiar with Mallorca’s music scene, you already know what that means: a guaranteed good time.
Finally, we’ll screen La Llama, directed by Turbo (Pau López and Gerardo del Hierro) and produced by White Horse and Apartamento. An animated piece that journeys through the world of Spanish design through a poetic and contemporary visual narrative.
The moment
Later in the evening, we’ll enjoy a screening of The Moment, with the sunset serving as its prologue.
The Moment is the documentary Aidan Zamiri shot about Charli XCX during the summer of 2024. The Brat Summer. The summer when an album recorded in just three weeks, with a deliberately imperfect aesthetic, became one of the year’s most talked about cultural phenomena.
Zamiri captures the chaos behind success. The pressures of the industry, the speed of fame, the strange feeling that something is slipping away just when it seems like you have everything. Charli XCX at full intensity: funny, exhausted, sharp and contradictory.
And, of course, with a soundtrack that will be almost impossible to listen to without moving some part of your body.

More music
To close the night, the ever wonderful Aina Losange. One of the island’s most beloved DJs and one of the people who best embodies that brat spirit.
Why Calvià?
On 28 June, Calvià will inaugurate its new seafront promenade in Magaluf, a renewed public space designed to be enjoyed and lived in. And we want to be part of that opening.
Open air cinema by the sea. A way of understanding culture that turns a screening into a shared memory.
The summer that will change your life begins on 28 June in Calvià.
We’ll see you there.
Free entry. No reservation required. Just come along and enjoy.
