History

It was created with a clear mission: to bring audiences the best international films that had no place in traditional cinemas. Its first goal was visibility; the second, to give prestige to the internet as a screening platform. Mallorca came later. Today, Atlàntida is the world’s leading hybrid film festival. In its 14th edition, it surpassed 1.2 million viewers across its two venues: one week in Mallorca and one month on Filmin. Over the years, Mallorca has welcomed major international figures such as Liv Ullmann, Michael Douglas, Judi Dench, J.A. Bayona and Ken Loach, along with many of Spain’s most prominent filmmakers.
